Nouvelle Vague is a French music collective founded in 2003 by producers Marc Collin and Olivier Libaux. Formation name refers to the phenomenon of a new wave in French cinematography in the 1960s. Although their work is primarily covers, but their selection and unique method of administration have distinguished the band from the beginning of their careers.

The first Nouvelle Vague album from 2004 included new versions of classic new wave tracks, from the repertoire of such bands as Joy Division, Dead Kennedys, The Clash and Depeche Mode. All songs were kept in the atmosphere of a gentle bossa nova with a female vocal. The critics were delighted with the surprising reading of popular songs, and the audience immediately fell in love with their style combining good taste combined with ... perversity. The next album, titled "Bande à Part" (2006) are another interesting covers of well-known songs, including "Ever Fallen in Love?" Buzzcocks, "Blue Monday" New Order, "The Killing Moon" by Echo and the Bunnymen and "Heart of Glass" by Blondie. The songs found recognition among advertising specialists and several of them were used in campaigns in the United Kingdom and the USA. Nouvelle Vague was supported by vocalists, including Mélanie Pain, Marina Celeste and Phoebe Killdeer in the recordings of "Bande à Part". The originality of the project translated into international group success, millions of records sold, and tours and concerts in the most prestigious concert halls, such as the London Royal Albert Hall, the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles or the Paris Olympia. In 2011, the team began working with well-known designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. At that time, the founders of Nouvelle Vague also participated in other music projects.

In 2016 their latest album "I Could Be Happy" was released. Again, these are classic punk and post-punk songs in the atmosphere and style characteristic of Nouvelle Vague. The album is distinguished by the participation of invited guests - the Cuban band supports the group in "A Manner of Speaking", mariachi from Mexico in the song "Killing Moon", and Indian instrumentalists in "Ever Fallen in Love". Once again, we find out how interesting and successful you can model and process music.

In 2019, the band celebrates its 15th birthday. During the European tour we will see great vocalists - Mélanie Pain and Élodie Frege, which for years have been creating the unforgettable atmosphere of Nouvelle Vague.
