He took his artistic pseudonym in honor of one of the main characters in the cartoon Scooby Doo - Shaggy (Shaggy), because his friend decided that Orville is similar to him.

He debuted in 1993 with the album "Pure Pleasure", which included the arrangement of the band ska Folkes Brothers - "Oh Carolina". The song quickly became a hit, among others in the UK. The time came in 1996 when he released the album "Boombastic" with the title single. The piece reached the tops of the most important lists, among others 3rd place in the United States or 1st place in Europe, and the album gained platinum status.

Known singles from this album are "It Was not Me" (nomination for the Grammy Award) and "Angel". In 2002 and 2005 Shaggy released "Lucky Day" and "Clothes Drop" respectively. "Lucky Day" received the status of Golden Record, and the single "Strength Of A Woman" entered the Top 40 charts. "Clothes Drop" received a Grammy nomination for the best reggae album.

The album "Intoxication" from 2007 was nominated for Grammy in the category of Best Album Reggae during the 51st. Derives from it - "Church Heathen" and "Bonafide Girl" went to the top of the charts, and the song "Church Heathen" won the title Best Music Video at International Reggae and World Music Awards in 2008. In the same year Shaggy recorded and released the single "Feel The Rush", which became the anthem of the European Football Championships 2008.

In recent years, Shaggy has remeinded himself thanks to his guest participation in the recording entitled "I'm Not Rich" ("The Kings Son") or a new version of the cult hit from 1983 - "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun". In April 2018 Shaggy joined forces with Sting, and the result of their collaboration is the album "44/876". The publishing house promotes a single called "Do not Make Me Wait".

Shaggy, despite his success, remained humble - he is a committed philanthropist and businessman (through the music publisher Big Yard Music Group promotes more artists).
